I would define, in brief, the poetry of words as the rhythmical creation of Beauty.
Beauty of whatever kind, in its supreme development, invariably excites the sensitive soul to tears.
We loved with a love that was more than love.
~Edgar Allan Poe, Venus in Pisces native
Venus in Pisces 2016: March 12 – April 5
Venus is said to be exalted in Pisces. Exaltation is a planetary condition which is said to bestow prominence, confidence, and an ability to express the planet’s significations with more facility. Thus Venus’ natural desire for free flowing exchange, easy give and take with others, and generosity of spirit finds a fertile space to unfurl as she travels through this sign.
The planet Venus is the natural significator of love, play, romance, beauty, sharing, and give and take with others. In water sign Pisces, Venus especially enjoys herself. As Venus is the planet of pleasure, when she is in Pisces, simply living feels amazing. Venus drinks in her perceptions, and with no boundary to filter what comes in, in addition to Pisces enhancing the volume of the senses, just being in the world means being constantly alive to sensory pleasure.
The sign of Pisces’ thin boundaries makes it extremely sensitive to outside influences. These same thin boundaries give Venus in Pisces an openness with others that is expressed as devotion, cherishing, care, and an openness of sharing, at times to the point of self-sacrifice.
There is compassion, calmness, and kindness with this position of Venus. As we are all living expressions of this placement through April 5th, we have access to the easy emotional exchange with others that makes sharing so pleasurable.
Pisces is the last sign of the zodiac, the place where all that exists in the universe, all elements, beings, galaxies, all 12 signs, polarities, truths, nature entities, past, now, and future gather to be mingled and morphed into other similar and not all the same forms before being born again in Aries.
This sign is thus closest to the divine, containing everything within it. Venus here luxuriates in this place that through the ordinary interactions of life fulfills the yearning for the multiplicity of divine experiences.
While Venus transits Pisces she will make aspects to a number of other planets in the sky.
Her square to Mars on the 14th can make for amplified devotion, a greater tendency toward love and romance, an energized display of generosity or creativity, love distributed freely among the many, or otherwise a conflict or confrontation that begins nowhere and seems to fizzle out or have no concrete end point or point of disagreement. Due to Venus’ excellent dignity this aspect appears to me to tend more on the side of the former than the latter.
On March 20th Venus joins Neptune; she dissolves into an appearance/experience of transcendence. The days leading up to this conjunction are excellent for meditating on expressing and sharing your higher purpose, they are great for enjoying time with close loved ones, or sinking into the depths and heights and all the realities of romance with a beloved. Watch also for a loosening, unraveling, dispersion, and multiplicitous repetition on this day, likely to be blessed by the harmonious rays of Venus.
Soon after the Venus-Neptune conjunction, Venus squares Saturn on the 24th-25th. This happens while Saturn is particularly strong in the sky as it is stationing to go retrograde. This square raises the theme of discrimination in love. If we have previously evaded, eluded, or conveniently escaped the truth of a situation in an emotional encounter or exchange, this square is a call to sit up straight and see the reality for what it is. This goes for money and art as much as it does for the emotional exchange between lovers, partners, or friends. This is an opening square that is the development of a story that had its beginnings when Venus and Saturn last met on January 8th, 2016.
Venus joins Chiron on March 29-30 which indicates a bittersweet experience around love, giving, and sacrifice.
On April 2, Venus is exalted at the 27th degree of Pisces. This is a favorable day for all Venusian matters – note what comes through on this day, or design it to your advantage.
Helen, thy beauty is to me
Like those Nicean barks of yore
That gently, o’er a perfumed sea,
The weary, way-worn wanderer bore
To his own native shore. On desperate seas long wont to roam,
Thy hyacinth hair, thy classic face,
Thy Naiad airs have brought me home
To the glory that was Greece,
And the grandeur that was Rome.Lo, in yon brilliant window-niche
How statue-like I see thee stand,
The agate lamp within thy hand,
Ah! Psyche, from the regions which
Are Holy Land!~Edgar Allan Poe, To Helen
