After being retrograde since April 17th, Mars resumes forward motion when it stations direct today, June 29, at 7:38 pm Eastern Daylight Time at 23 degrees Scorpio 03 minutes.

On a direct level, Mars’ station direct indicates the externalization of the drives that were directed within and underground for the past several months. Assertion, activity, and enthusiasm of pursuit of something desired are all back on deck in a way that is much more familiar and comfortable for many of us than the Mars drives facing inward.

Forward movement accompanies Mars’ station. Events that have been simmering beneath the surface for the duration of Mars’ retrograde boil over and produce an external physical reality, bringing relief.

This is especially the case if the inner Mars work of understanding desire has been a conscious process and there has been participation in what can be described as the inner alchemy of coming to terms with what you want.

Why is it often difficult to admit to ourselves what we want? Admitting our desire even to ourselves means entertaining the possibility of having what we want. And here the possibility is that we might not let ourselves have what we want, we might not believe we can have what we want, or we have to do the work of letting it in, and then we would be people who get what we want… and something would change 🙂

Desire as a theme is amplified a second time by Mars’ presence in Scorpio, a sign fueled in an important way, by desire, and a sign that is able to shape desire. Mars in this sign describes relentless and unyielding pursuit. Now that Mars is just about direct, desire comes out into the open and developments unfurl in the outer world.

Any time a planet stations, its significations are amplified. Notably, there are two stations at this time, Chiron turned retrograde on the 27th at 25 degrees of Pisces, and Mars is turning direct today on the 29th. These bodies are in a flowing trine to each other. This is a story about pursuit being a means to wholeness and healing, as well as a story about teaching the emotional body about the creative nourishment to all parts of life that flows from a visceral fulfillment.

Remember that Scorpio Mars also has to do with the unpalatable themes of resentment, revenge/vengeance, hidden attacks, emotional violence. Mars’ direct motion in Scorpio gives the ability to approach these themes with more control, from a position of renewed strength. In addition to self control, Mars’ trine to Chiron in Pisces at this time points to the ability to heal these inclinations with application of wisdom and compassion. This is the kind of compassion that comes from accepting being embodied, and zooming out from hyper concern with self to acknowledge that everyone else is embodied and subject to the same laws of incarnation.

On the highest level, a direct motion Mars in Scorpio in a trine Chiron stationed retrograde describes a kind of ultimate justice. This could be a very personal level balancing out of your own life. It will also be reflected in the events unfolding in the collective. Watch for any inspiration, nudges, realizations constellating around this idea.

Happy Mars direct! The middle-end of August brings a fresh starting point associated with this Mars cycle as well as the ongoing renovation happening in Sagittarius. More to come 🙂
