1910

“I have loved in life and I have been loved.
I have drunk the bowl of poison from the hands of love as nectar,
and have been raised above life’s joy and sorrow.

My heart, aflame in love, set afire every heart that came in touch with it.
My heart has been rent and joined again;
My heart has been broken and again made whole;
My heart has been wounded and healed again;
A thousand deaths my heart has died, and thanks be to love, it lives yet.

I went through hell and saw there love’s raging fire,
and I entered heaven illumined with the light of love.
I wept in love and made all weep with me;
I mourned in love and pierced the hearts of men;
And when my fiery glance fell on the rocks, the rocks burst forth as volcanoes.

The whole world sank in the flood caused by my one tear;
With my deep sigh the earth trembled, and when I cried aloud the name of my beloved,
I shook the throne of God in heaven.

I bowed my head low in humility, and on my knees I begged of love,
“Disclose to me, I pray thee, O love, thy secret.”

She took me gently by my arms and lifted me above the earth, and spoke softly in my ear,
“My dear one, thou thyself art love, art lover,
and thyself art the beloved whom thou hast adored.”
― Hazrat Inayat Khan, The Dance of the Soul

There was a lot I wanted to cover for this Venus-Pluto conjunction in Capricorn piece. Pluto is transiting my 9th house, so what is here is a reflection of that transit in my chart, as I explore the many uses of the concepts of knowing and truth. My mind’s hands crept over the topics coming up for me lately and I came across these as most prominent:

The weight of the third earth sign of the zodiac, and how it’s easier to drop the burden of a load than to carry it to its right destination.

The burning fire of Pluto that crackles and blisters the sensitive layer of protective skin over the muscles, so that by making the choice to live through that pain, one might become stronger, if worn and wisened.

Holding and thumbing through the psychological tome of relationships past and present. The vulnerability of trust and the meaning of loyalty. The physical form a relationship takes and how it is informed by the intentions of the people who fill its spaces. How what is reflected back in relation is truth in some sense and what needs to be seen.

Pluto in the earth sign that is the pinnacle and height of the natural astrological wheel is about burning away the accumulation of whatever is non essential to get to the rich black gleaming mound of truth that is you, that is your relationships, that is your core soul mission here on earth.

And you can’t see that if it’s covered in any kind of deception. It is not visible to those who look outside themselves for validation of whatever you want your story to be. So much and so often, this is an inside job.

The Venus-Pluto dynamic runs the gamut of possible expressions:

*Stepping into personal power

*Declining acceptance of personal power and seeing that rejection mirrored in others

* Abuse from someone who is supposed to believe in you no matter what

*Seeing through the events of reality to see that they are metaphors for what’s actually happening

* An aversion to the weight and heaviness of reality, when reality’s consistency feels most comfortable, but somehow looking it in the face seems like something too daunting to attempt

* The power of long standing relationships

* Dealing with the real loss of time, energy, and resources invested over time in family, love, life

* Experiencing the pride and power of surviving loss

* Knowing the strength of earned growth over time

* Traveling deep into the core of self-truth via a relationship

* The power of connecting with the flesh, blood, and humanity of other people

* The pace and slowness of progress

* The attractiveness/desire of doing the right thing when nobody is looking

*The attractiveness/desire of initiating acceptance of responsibility in the material world

* Quality, worth, and relationships that appreciate in value over time

* How the measurement of non-material and emotional exchange has no value units associated with it, and how money is a neat placeholder that makes it easier to sidestep doing the deeper work on a soul level asked for when it is removed from the equation, and what remains is the question of integrity between you, yourself, and soul mission this lifetime, and there are no easy, clean, or neat answers in that space of being beholden

January was heavy Pluto times. January gave us all opportunity to ponder deeply on the Pluto parts of our charts. The January Mercury Retrograde helped us to cognize the most raw truth of the purpose of our material existence. The Venus-Pluto conjunction proposed  a consideration of the measure of our self-love in the context of power and relationship.

The experience of these two astrological events is according where you are in your life and what you signed up to learn this time around. And, in my view, your experience also has to do with the capacity of the nervous system to receive the finer vibrations sent out by these planets toward us. Which is why in my astrological and non-licensed-medical-practitioner opinion, I recommend people take a up a practice that demonstrates a devotion to quieting the mind and receiving the truth that is within. The truth is always within you, and it does not operate by the physical laws we are accustomed to yielding to in day to day physical reality.

The other thing about this astrology of faster moving planets coming up to meet slower moving planets is they bring into day to day life what has been going on underneath for some time. Astrology gives us time on a much more spacious scale than we are used to in the West especially, to learn and growth through what we are going through.

There is so much more that can be said about Pluto in Capricorn, but suffice it to say in this piece that through late 2024 we are working with the deeper metaphysical laws governing material reality. The more we can exercise self forgiveness, love, and compassion, the more we are able to extend that forgiveness, love and compassion outwardly. What I know for sure is that we are better off working within the network of a like-minded community of others than we are doing it alone.  Those mirrors are some of the most powerful agents of change you will encounter in life. My wish is that is a blessing you have available to you in 2016.

Warmly,
