Tension is the great integrity.

~ Buckminster Fuller. His chart is a great mirror of the current astrology. I’ll be offering an interpretation of it on Friday.

The Full Moon at 11 degrees Sagittarius takes place on June 1, 2015 at 12:18 PM EDT. Consider it a big ball of deep knowledge swinging just above your head, ready to be burst with the poke of a needle, raining your own divine intelligence down on you. That is the short version of this blog post. Read on for the long version.

Wherever you might be in the world, the chart for this lunation is super mutable. Three out of the four mutable signs are represented by planets in the sky.

In the chart for Washington DC, close to where I am, the chart has 4 degrees Virgo Rising, filling in the last of the mutable signs for a full, flexible, mutable house.

Since on this blog we presently operate on the “the meaning is in its maker” principle, and since this chart is blaring, I’ll go ahead and say that this lunation is mutable as hell.

This lunation is highly Saturnine, and happens within the context of a potent Mercury Retrograde cycle.  The overriding atmosphere at this time is the contemplation of (or flitting attention to) one’s knowledge, the urge to expand, and dissolute focus on developing a new structure, or rearranging an existing structure to meet a sense of expanded consciousness. There is however an important consideration to this atmosphere.

That is Saturn’s considerable, unavoidable presence in this lunation. Saturn, forever the taskmaster. On this blog we also contribute to a healthy, active re-imagining of the typical portrayal of Saturn. So we say, Saturn, forever the taskmaster, and the bestower of rewards for the commitment to and execution of a job well done.

Sagittarius Saturn can also represent big feelings which are blown way out of proportion, to the point of feeling crushed under pressure. So I urge (urgent!!!) you to take a step back, do some breathing exercises, honestly assess the gravity of the situation.

There are other ways Saturn can show up this full moon.

Noted British astrologer Liz Greene notes that where Saturn is in our charts is where we are most likely to project shadow qualities. Another noted astrologer, Charles A. Jayne, says that in addition to people being great hooks for projection, external events  can also be convenient vessels for projections, which are known or unknown, and at any rate uncomfortable, qualities, ideas, or points of development in our selves. These points of projection are difficult to grapple with as part of us that is ours, not belonging to or given by anyone else. In my experience, I find both of these statements to be true, so I’ll take them (that’s another key to this Full Moon).

That is all by way of saying that this is a particularly potent time for the holographic Universe to rear its head, as Neptune is prominent not only in this lunation, but for the whole of the Mercury Retrograde cycle. So we are living in truly Neptunian times for a couple of months.

If you are finding yourself entangled in situations which are triggering your Saturn issues, examine those. These operations are happening inside you. Think also that projecting is not necessarily bad, or something to strive to rid ourselves of. The very important key to honoring the projection mechanism is to be aware that it is occurring. Then the projection can be re-integrated and processed, and an adjustment can be made in your reality, by shifting your beliefs and then actions.

If the projection is truly consciously addressed, it stops presenting itself as an issue outside or inside you. The amount of time it takes to purge yourself of a persistent issue– hours, days, months, years, decades, lifetimes– depends on how incisively is the work done to clear it, whether the “lesson has been learned”, and the dharmic responsibility you have assumed this lifetime.

So forgive yourself (Neptune) if you are undergoing the process of thinking, re-thinking, thinking you had something figured out but actually need to continue to consider it, dueling with your thoughts, not knowing what you think, and so on. Being aware that the process is occurring, and continuing to move forward in the best way you know how, even if moving forward means conscious retreat, is the best thing to do at this time. And cultivating the patience and persistence required will help to see you through, as the process is still going through various stages of development through the Full Moon in Capricorn on July 1st , when Mercury returns to the point where it initially went retrograde at 13 degrees Gemini.

With so much love,

P.S. Picking up a daily meditation practice is an excellent way to calm down chaotic mental atmosphere during this time.
